Whaling on Martha's Vineyard is a labor of love.  We all know something about whaling, but to delve beneath the surface was an exercise in research, writing and review.  I focus primarily on the Vineyard, although by proximity we have to touch on the whaling exploits of Nantucket and New Bedford.
Lots of great images, courtesy of the Martha's Vineyard Museum.  Great Foreword by reporter/photographer/musician Mark Alan Lovewell.  And a great story, based on the logbooks, images, research and tales of the whalemen of Martha's Vineyard.
