“The story of the Vineyard forms a unique block in the American quilt. Delve into island history from its geological formation through the Native American heritage that survives today. Learn of the role the Vineyard played in the American Revolution, abolitionism and the Civil War. Trace the demise of whaling and rise of tourism in the early 20th century and understand how the Vineyard participated in World War II.
