TOURS OF MARTHA'S VINEYARD

Tom Dresser offers tours of Martha's Vineyard, walking or driving.

Tours are personal experiences, arranged in advance and consist of drives along the more picturesque shoreline scenes and quaint Island towns.

Tours are available for up to four guests, or I'm happy to use the client's vehicle.

Special requests will be honored if at all possible.

Following are a few comments from satisfied guests:

Tom Dresser’s Island Tour was fascinating!  He is very engaging and knowledgeable about Martha’s Vineyard history!  I highly recommend his tour!!

Tom Dresser's Vineyard Tour was splendid, professional, and memorable.  We visited places we might not otherwise have seen, with commentary that was interesting and informative.  Tom's knowledge of the Vineyard is so deep we could probably take the same itinerary again with a totally different story line!  Having said that, Tom is not at all scripted; he tells his stories in the moment and from the heart as the spirit moves him.  And he doesn't waste time trying to entertain you with silly jokes as so many tour guides do.  The visitor is made to feel at home on the Vineyard, which should be the point of any tour.  A personal highlight was that we were able to visit Art Buchwald's grave, and pay our respects, something we never would have expected.

If you want to extend your tour a bit, offer to buy him lunch at his favorite restaurant!  He will oblige and it will be well worth it.  Invite his wife, Joyce,  too. (He took us by his home so we could meet her.)  Also, one should go to the Edgartown bookstore and see how many books Tom and Joyce have written about the Vineyard, and buy some!  Tom Dresser reminds me of Tim Walz -- a genuine human being you would want as your coach, your personal historian, and your next door neighbor.
