This tour evolved from the book, Martha's Vineyard in World War II. Travel around the Island to visit sites as varied as the bunkers at Gay Head, the observation point at Peaked Hill and South Beach patrolled by Coast Guard men during the War. Lots of memorable sites and bits of history such as look-out sites, steamship stories and ship-building sites in the War. Visit Army Road, built when the Vineyard was "invaded" in the fall of 1942. Lots of tales to tell.
